Biography —
Originally from Kansas, Leigh grew up with a great curiosity for travel and made her way to India immediately after high school. Throughout college she continued to travel and study in India, Nepal and Tibet. She spent over a decade in the Himalayas as a volunteer, translator, and student of Buddhism where she returned time and again to Tibetan communities. Her formal language training has spanned Naropa University, UW-Madison, University of Kansas, SIT, as well as a dedicated focus on the Amdo dialect at the Qinghai University of Nationalities. She is currently a student of Sowa Rigpa, the Tibetan Medical System.
